International Women’s day Celebration/Press Conference

The National executives, Member organisations and Guest came together at CIPE office on Wednesday, March 11th 2020 to celebrate International women’s day. Dressed in purple, the National Coordinator , chief Anita Nana Okuribodo, ANWBN Board member, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, representatives from the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and other speakers spoke around the theme Creating a Gender balanced world adapted from the global theme #Eachfor Equal.

A press conference focused on the Women’s National Business Agenda, the first Women’s National Business Summit and other issues affecting womanhood followed immediately. Two television stations, TVC and AIT and five print media ( The Guardian, The Sun, Vanguard, Business day and The Nation) were in attendance.

National Women’s Business Summit

Preparations to host the first National Women’s Business Summit in Abuja for April 15th 2020 was in top gear. The event was to have the WNBA , Women’s banking initiative and Empowered Center.launched.

This had to be postponed because of the global COVID-19 Pandemic..
